Dictionary lists installation.

The description of the installation of dictionary lists.

Prerequisites

Ensure that you have created a directory for Cragcross progams, referenced by an environment variable, CRAGCROSS_DIR: see here for instructions..

What are the dictionary lists?

Some Cragcross programs require a dictionary, or more precisely a list of words. This installation installs three files:

  • master.txt: a huge list with over 370,000 terms.
  • reduced.txt: a small list list with fewer than 9,000 terms.
  • update_words.txt: an initially empty text file in which "new" words should be placed, to be merged to both reduce.txt then master.txt: see the update_dic_lists app.

Installation

Execute the following steps

  • Create a target folder, DicLists, on your Windows Cragcross base directory; e.g., C:\Cragcross\DicLists (used below).
  • Using the following link, save the attached dictionary_lists_original.7z to C:\Cragcross\DicLists: Download dictionary_lists_original.7z.
  • Double-click on dictionary_lists_original.7z to expand. (If not the default action, right-click and select extract.)
  • When the dictionary lists are available, you may use your favourite text editor to view the contenat of each of the three files.
  • Let me know of any problems you may encounter...
